I did it...

9.5 miles, but my lungs are NOT happy with me. I definitely had more breathing issues than normal. I'm mildly asthmatic to begin with, but trying to run in cold air while recovering from a cold made matters more difficult. But I still ran ~11 minute pace, which is pretty good. I think I maybe could have done 10.5 if I were feeling better, not so bundled-up, and if it had been less windy. Maybe in a few weeks my long runs won't be quite so slow. I'd REALLY love to do the 5/3 Riverbank 25k at a 10 minute pace. My half-marathon last fall was at 10:15 pace, so I have my work cut out for me.

  2. Don't be so sure of that...I don't run short distances all that well. Takes me 2-3 miles just to warm up, so I tend to do better in 10ks and longer. 4 miles is sorta brutal!

    ;)

I'm hoping I can still do that race. We're thinking we'll do DC in June, so I'm not sure whether or not I'd be able to do another trip in July (or is it early Aug.?). Will you be in Milwaukee by then? How far is that from Sheboygan? Perhaps I could make a weekend visit to you....

    :)
